Link Road

This £18m project lies at the heart of the regeneration initiative and will allow many of the other projects to go ahead.  It will:

• Link Kirkintilloch to Scotland’s motorway system for the first time
• Run from the Kirkintilloch town centre to Hornshill interchange at the M80 Stepps by-pass
• Provide benefits to the local economy, jobs and businesses and a better quality of life
• Improve the environment and public safety by diverting heavy traffic away from residential areas and the existing Kirkintilloch / Lenzie road
• Create a brand new area of wetland to protect and attract wildlife, including birds, fish, otters and water voles
