Leisure Centre

Opened to the public in July 2007 this £7.8m state of the art centre rivals some of the best in Central Scotland.  In only one year after opening it obtained a VisitScotland four star quality assurance award.

Set in Woodhead Park, it has helped to regenerate the surrounding parkland and create a brand new children’s playpark.  Designed in consultation with the community, it offers great health and fitness facilities, including:

• 6 lane, 25 metre swimming pool, suitable for competition swimming
• Children’s teaching pool
• Sauna and steam room
• 70 station fitness suite
• 4 court sports hall (for badminton, basketball and other sports), suitable for tournaments
• 4 outdoor 5-a-side football pitches
• 2 outdoor tennis courts
• 2 exercise / dance studios
• Café
• Consulting rooms, first aid room and full multimedia conference facility
• On-site parking for up to 170 cars
