Temporary footpath diversion at Woodhead Park
5 Jun 2008
Pedestrians using footpaths around Woodhead Park are being asked to note a temporary path closure to allow construction work to progress for the new Kirkintilloch Integrated Care Centre (KICC).The existing footpath on the west side of Woodhead Park, which connects the park to Saramago Street close to it’s junction with Lenzie Road, has been temporarily closed for the next five weeks.
A nearby path which links the Leisure Centre with Industry Street remains open as one alternative route. A further alternative route via Lenzie Road and the existing path on the east side of Woodhead Park is well signposted.
Duncan Hamilton, Project Director for KI apologises for any inconvenience caused to walkers in the area. He said:
“This temporary path closure is essential to take forward the building work for the Kirkintilloch Integrated Care Centre safely. We’re making every effort to make sure the closure is kept to the minimum and that diversions are clearly posted.”
