Transport Master Plan

Improving the transport infrastructure in the Kirkintilloch area is a key target for Kirkintilloch’s Initiative. Apart from the obvious need for the Kirkintilloch Link Road there are a whole range of related improvements which are being pursued through a Transport Master Plan. These include additional parking at Lenzie Station, a new road link to access to the Southbank area, junction improvements and traffic management measures on the Lenzie Road corridor and a review of parking arrangements in the town centre. These are being discussed with the Council’s Planning and Roads Services. Experienced consultants are currently looking at the Lenzie Road corridor with specific attention being focussed on access to the Southbank area and to the new Leisure Centre. This week there have been a number of meetings to discuss progress with this project.
