Leisure Centre

A lot of hard work is continuing to finalise the detailed arrangements for the opening of the leisure centre. This week I attended meetings to progress things like the location and standard of the external play park, landscaping proposals and transport issues including footpath alignments and road improvements.

There is a lot of public interest in the leisure centre and our team are regularly dealing with requests for information and official site visits. These can take a lot of organisation because the site within the boundary fence belongs to the contractor, Barr construction, during the construction phase. While they are happy to help wherever they can Barr do have to put health and safety concerns first.
