Arts and Cultural Centre

Work continues on revising plans for the Arts & Cultural Centre so that they are affordable and capable of meeting Scottish Arts Council Lottery Fund criteria for a grant of up to £1.7M. The architects are doing a great job against a very difficult set of deadlines. New plans should be fully developed for 3 April when an information evening will be arranged for all of the contributors to previous consultations on the Arts & Cultural Centre. This evening is by invitation to those who are directly involved in active groups in the area.A public display of the new plans is being arranged and will probably take place in the William Patrick Library during April / May. The Project Champion and I went through the Business Plan this week to make sure that the changes to the building are reflected in the business plan. In general, the activity programme is unaffected but some of the dates and timescales have had to be adjusted along with some of the assumptions about income.
