Link Road

Efforts continue to secure all of the land required to build the Kirkintilloch Link Road. The Council have agreed in principle to promote a Compulsory Purchase Order for any plots which cannot be acquired by agreement. A report will go to the next Full Council meeting giving details of the areas where negotiations to acquire by agreement have failed, for whatever reason. In the meantime negotiations continue with the current landowners in the hope that the CPO might not be required to complete its full process. The design of the Link Road is continuing apace. This week there have been productive meetings with the Roads Services of both East Dunbartonshire and North Lanarkshire Councils.
