Monday 28 April to Friday 2 May - We met with the Scottish Arts Council representative this week to update him on the latest position regarding design development and the costing of the latest scheme. An up to date cost plan on the scheme development to Stage E in the RIBA plan of work was received early in the week. As expected the projected costs associated with the scheme have risen during the design development phase as a result of a number of factors including the impact of construction inflation on the programme slippage. The next stage is to look closely at both the budget and the cost projections to see how these can be brought back into line. At the moment it looks as though there is going to have to be movement on both of these. i.e. cost savings on the project and enhanced fund raising and additional budget provision by the project promoters.
