Kirkintilloch Town Hall

Monday 14 April to Friday 18 April - I met this week with consultants who are assisting the Town Hall Preservation Trust with the development of their refurbishment and expansion plans for the Town Hall. This meeting is part of a monitoring regime which is established to regularly assess progress and the prospects of successfully raising the significant funds which will be required to do the work. The latest plans are under discussion with the Council’s Planning Service and I understand that a planning application may be submitted soon. There has been less progress on updating the business plan and the costings but this information will be required quite soon to support a number of funding applications which have been targeted. Discussions have taken place between the Trust and KI regarding the compatibility of the Town Hall proposals and the proposed Arts & Cultural Centre at Southbank.
