Monday 7 April to Friday 11 April - Much of my time on the KLR this week has been at meetings dealing with the final legal and contractual agreements which need to be in place before a contract of this size and complexity can be let. On site the Contractor is now concentrating on the treatment of Japanese Knotweed. I get weekly reports and am genuinely surprised at the lengths to which the Contractor and the Environmental Clerk of Works have to go to ensure that there is no spread of this noxious weed during the treatment works. Detailed discussions are now taking place with the Preferred Contractor on issues such as the location of works compounds, the programme, and administrative arrangements during the contract and the Contractor’s involvement with the Resident’s Forums.
