Monday 18 February to Friday 22 February - The KI regular meeting with the Council’s Planning Service took place this week. As usual, this meeting was very helpful. We discussed a whole range of issues including progress towards meeting the various planning conditions associated with the Southbank Access Road, the Kirkintilloch Link Road and the Integrated Care Centre, all of which are projects which are pretty close to a contract award. Important also for the future of KI and Kirkintilloch generally were our discussions on the updating of the Local Plan. KI has its own views about what should be included in the next Local Plan. Obviously, this will be a matter for the Council to decide but it is good that KI has an opportunity at this stage to make its views known.
