Southbank Infrastructure

There is general recognition that development has taken place in the Southbank area in the past on a fairly ad-hoc basis. Lots of local jobs have been created by these developments and the area will soon have a major attraction on the Forth & Clyde canal in the form of the Marina. However, there have been adverse effects on the road system and on the drainage infrastructure. A group has been set to examine how any further development at Southbank should be accommodated and to set out a series of objectives for future management of issues such as sustainable drainage systems, parking and access by foot, cycle and public transport.Read next: Kirkintilloch Link Road
