We had our regular progress meeting with the Scottish Arts Council this week. The Arts Council is committed to a significant grant contribution towards the project (£1.7M) and therefore has a process in place for monitoring progress. The most significant areas of progress relate to the establishment of a charitable trust with an interim board, good progress with design development and various areas of review of the business plan and the programme. Charitable status relates to how the administrative arrangements for the new centre are to be organised and is equally important to our fundraising efforts and to the treatment of taxation such as VAT.
