Kirkintilloch Link Road

Work continues to get all of the necessary consents in place and we’re doing everything we can to make sure that everyone involved has all of the information they require to make the necessary decisions. The granting of these consents lies outwith KI’s control.

The KI Office received a couple of telephone calls this week which highlighted a need to step up the level of communication with residents who are directly affected by the KLR preparatory works With hindsight we should perhaps have given some residents more information about these works in advance. As a result I am looking at bringing forward proposals for a series of residents forums. These will be designed to give local residents up to date information about the proposed works, the programme and how to contact people involved in the construction work. It had been my intention to set these meetings up when the contract is awarded but I am thinking it might now be the time to make these arrangements.
