Southbank Infrastructure

Anyone who has been in the Southbank area recently can’t fail to have noticed that the marina, the footbridge and the office / restaurant developments are well advanced. The Contractor is expecting to complete these works by May 2008. The marina gives a unique setting for the Arts & Cultural Centre and the other developments around its edge. I am in discussion with the East Dunbartonshire Development Company and with the Council’s Planning Service about what further development will be appropriate for the area and how area-wide issues such as parking provision and drainage / flood prevention should be organised to accommodate the medium term future of the Southbank area.
