Kirkintilloch Town Centre

I met this week with a small group of Council officers with responsibility for various aspects of Kirkintilloch Town Centre. The aim of this group is to identify and assess potential options for beneficial development in the Town Centre. Ultimately, the conclusions of the group will be presented to the Council for possible inclusion in the updated Local Plan. Key pieces of work which are either already started or are about to start are preparation of a transport model for Kirkintilloch and arranging for a retail impact study for the Kirkintilloch area to be carried out. These two pieces of research will allow future development options to be properly tested and give some confidence on what the impacts of different types of development might be.
