Kirkintilloch Link Road

Posted on 25 Jan 2008

A great deal of effort is going into getting the final conditions on the Link Road planning consents signed off by the planning authorities. At the same time extensive discussions are taking place with the Preferred Contractor, landowners affected by the proposals and with those who have concerns about the impact of the Link Road on the road network. We hope to bring all of these issues to a conclusion so that the main construction contract for the Link Road can be awarded.

In the meantime, good progress is being made with preparation works. Tree removal on the line of the road is well advanced, the next stage of removal and treatment of Japanese Knotweed is about to start, as are the protective works for the Larkfield Lodge. Public Utility Diversion works are also well underway. The next information letter will shortly be sent out to all residents who live close to the line of the proposed road updating them on progress.

This diary entry covers a period of 3 weeks Monday 7 January to Friday 25 January, one of which has been a holiday week for me.
