The latest progress meeting with the Town Hall Preservation Trust took place on Tuesday of this week. The Trust is progressing its proposals to the point where they can make credible funding bids to the main funding bodies who are likely to be the BIG Lottery Fund, Historic Scotland and the Heritage Lottery Fund. Unfortunately, due to changes in the rules for bidding it seems that the outcome of a bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund will not be known until December 2008. This is disappointing however the Trust will continue with their work and hope to get to know about other bids in the Spring / Summer of 2008. As part of the process of preparing bids the Trust is having a day of consultation on 15 January at the Park Centre. There will be a drop-in session between 2.00pm and 4.00pm followed by a public meeting and discussion session between 7.00pm and 9.00pm. Anyone with an interest in the future of the Town Hall site will be welcome.Read previous: Kirkintilloch Link Road
