Town Centre
Posted on 14 Dec 2007
The KI Topic Group on Town Centre Vitality met this week. The meeting discussed the work of the Council’s Town Centre Review Group and KI’s role in this. It was recognised that the Council and KI have different roles to play in the town centre and that the work of the two organisations is moving at different paces. KI will therefore move forward with marketing its sites in the town centre in advance of the outcome of the Local Plan Review but will keep the Planning Service informed about what KI is doing. To support this KI and the Council have agreed to share the costs associated with the development of a traffic model for the town centre. In term of testing the impact of possible development options a traffic model is considered very important. KI is also assisting the Council with arrangements for a workshop / seminar for town centre traders and users in the New Year. The arrangements for this workshop / seminar were discussed.Read next: Kirkintilloch Link Road
