Kirkintilloch Town Hall

I met with the professional advisors of the Town Hall Preservation Trust this week for a formal monitoring meeting. KI needs to be satisfied that the Preservation Trust is progressing its proposals for the Town Hall in a professional way and as quickly as possible. The meeting adopted a similar structure to the same one adopted by the major funding bodies such as the Lottery Fund and the Millennium Commission. We gathered information on governance issues, on consultation and representative involvement of the community, on the mechanisms for the appointment of the professional team and on progress against an established programme. The discussions at this meeting will be presented in report form to the KI Partnership Board. The Board is keen to ensure that good progress is maintained and the Town Hall site brought back into productive use as quickly as possible.
