Leisure Centre

This week saw a flurry of activity on the Leisure Centre construction site. The contractor’s site village is now established and the site has been fenced off. For safety reasons it is necessary to close the footpath which runs through the site. Unfortunately this means a bit of a detour for people who use the path. Consideration was given to providing a temporary path along the western edge of the site. However, this would have required an area used by the Soccer Sevens to be dug up with no guarantee that it could be satisfactorily reinstated. This consideration, along with the fact that another footpath runs across the park reasonably nearby, lead to the decision to rely on the existing footpath network. Apologies to anyone who is temporarily inconvenienced by this arrangement. A full review of the footpath network is taking place as part of a detailed transport assessment for the Leisure CentreRead next: Leisure Centre
