Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre

The new Leisure Centre opened to the public on Saturday 21 July. The ribbon was cut by the Provost and Lee McConnell, the Olympic athlete. It was absolutely great to see the kids rushing into the Centre with their swimming kit on their backs. The opening ceremony and a weekend of free activities were arranged by the Council's Leisure Services Team. They did a great job and everyone is absolutely delighted with the Centre. On a more formal note a Civic Reception took place on Saturday 28 July to mark the occasion. Effectively this brings to an end KI's involvement with the Leisure Centre. We have handed it over and it is now up to the Council to make sure that it provides the community with the services they are looking for.
