Liaison with Planning Service and Local Councillors
Posted on 3 Aug 2007
The recent local government elections resulted in a number of new Local Councillors being elected. This week I have provided briefings on the structure of KI and current progress to a number of these Councillors. As you might expect the new Council is still bedding in and it remains to be seen exactly how it will approach the business of delivering local services. I am doing everything in my power to provide all Local Councillors with all of the information they need to take their view of KI and the work which it is doing. I also meet regularly with officers of the Planning Department. These meetings are extremely useful. This week we had a full discussion regarding all of the current KI planning applications including the Kirkintilloch Link Road, the Integrated Care Centre and the Arts & Cultural Centre. We also discussed possible forthcoming applications and the KI representations to the Local Plan Review process.Read next: Kirkintilloch Town Hall
