Transport Masterplan

I have been involved in extensive discussions recently with the Council’s Planning and Roads Services about the approval and implementation of a Transport Masterplan for the Kirkintilloch area. Due to the wide ranging impacts of the KI projects on transport KI has taken a lead on this issue. However, it has now been agreed that various departments of the Council will work with KI to further develop the plan and consider the best routes for implementation. The current plan covers the whole range of transport modes from walking to cycling to buses and trains to the private car. Hopefully, this approach will result in Kirkintilloch gaining a reputation for good transport access which can only be beneficial to economic development.
