Kirkintilloch Link Road
There is a continuing heavy workload relating to the delivery of the Kirkintilloch Link Road. This week I attended a North Lanarkshire Council Planning Hearing in Motherwell. The Council’s Planning Committee visited the section of the Link Road which lies in North Lanarkshire prior to the hearing and then heard representations from KI as well as an individual objector. Following a question and answer session and summing up from all sides the Planning Committee decided to grant full planning permission for the section of the road in the North Lanarkshire area subject to a number of pre-start conditions. In respect of objections from affected residents the most significant condition relates to the detailed landscaping proposals. The landscaping scheme is being updated in a number of areas to respond to comments received in planning representations. To move this forward I have also met on site this week with a representative of the residents in the Larkfield Road area to ensure that their concerns are fully addressed
