Kirkintilloch Link Road

The provision of detailed information on the Link Road proposals to the Planning Service continued this week. Over the course of the week, plans showing the drainage layouts and the landscaping proposals have been lodged along with a series of reports on the impact of the road and the ways in which the interests of the community will be protected during and after the construction period. This flurry of activity ended on Friday, in a meeting between the planners, KI and all of the consultants involved in the design of the KLR. At this meeting it was agreed that KI has submitted sufficient information to allow consideration of the proposal. The information is now being sent out to the various consultees and is being examined in detail by the Planning Services. This work will no doubt raise a number of questions which I have agreed will be addressed quickly by the KLR Design Team. This week also saw the Council’s Development & Environment Committee approve the publication of the Traffic Regulation Orders required to adjust the local road network as a result of the KLR proposals. These orders will now be advertised in the local paper, displayed on street where they will be available for inspection at Council offices
