Kirkintilloch Link Road
Posted on 10 Nov 2006
Detailed designs are almost complete and this week the plans were displayed for local Councillors to give them a better understanding of the statutory processes, which they will shortly be asked to approve. Our engineering consultants are now working on the final elements of the design. The design also takes into consideration work being done by the environmental and landscape consultants. All of this information will inform the detailed planning application for the Kirkintilloch Link Road, which we hope to submit before the end of this month. Them there will be an advert in the local paper and formal notification to anyone living within a certain distance of the road. KI will also put the plans on public display and a letter will be sent to everyone living around the road to explain the approval processes and their rights.
On a wider front detailed discussions have been taking place with the Council’s Planning and Roads Services about the detailed development of the Transport Masterplan for the KI projects. The plan is to agree a package of transport measures which are considered necessary to accommodate the level of development being proposed by KI.
