Board Meeting

As I said last week the Main Board Meeting for Kirkintilloch’s Initiative took place this Wednesday. It was well attended and there was a lively discussion about the various reports which were up for consideration. Copies of the approved reports will be placed on the web site for anyone who wants to look at the details. For me, as Director, the most important outcome is that I have authority to sign the construction stage contract for the Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre subject to a satisfactory outcome of the detailed planning process. I also have an approved budget for 2006 although I have to return to the Board in 3 months time with more information about cash flow and specific details about how each project will progress during 2006. I also have the Board’s endorsement of the communication / publicity strategy and agreement to proposals for refreshing the community involvement arrangements. All in all it was a good meeting and there is definitely plenty for the Core Management Team to be progressing during 2006.
